Director and star John Cameron Mitchell’s queer hit HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH kicks off TIGLFF’s 25th Anniversary Year Monthly Film Series. Fans know the story of the transsexual punk rock girl from East Berlin who tours the US with her band as she tells her life story and follows the ex-boyfriend/bandmate who stole her songs. Having won awards for Best Director and Audience Awards at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as Best Directorial Debut from the National Board of Review, the Gotham Awards, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Mitchell also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor and the Premiere magazine "Performance of the Year Award."
