What we say
Gay resort
What was once a rundown hotel has been transformed into a luxury gay resort. Relax at the pool, enjoy a meal in the great new restaurant, and take in the entertainment by resident female impersonator Bobby York.

I live in St. Petersburg and go there all the time and love the food, service, and accommodations. Flamingo Resort is a magnet bringing in great gay clientele to our area. The best part is meeting and socializing with guests that fly in from all over just to stay here. I've met hot guys that were visiting from Canada, Massachusettes, Maine, and quite a few New Yorkers. I've never heard any complaints.

Come on people ... lets try to say positive things. It is a nice hotel and the renovations are well done. Its a new complex and they can only improve on it. We need more safe places like this to be able to get together for fun and entertainment.

On Saturday and Sunday of this past week, I checked into the Flamingo, the rooms are in good shape, nice pool. If you have been to the Parliament House in Orlando, you know you can have a ton of fun, not so here, they are very strict about the no food or drink outside of your room policy, the continental breakfast is suberp, only 15 minutes from the beaches. Downside staff is not friendly, and can be downright rude, bar is not packed, no cruising, I was wondering if I were in a gay resort, or a Seventh Day Adventist camp.
I will only return if I go back to St Pete, but will not make a special trip to stay there.

I visited Flamingo last weekend. It's true - the place is busiest for their sunday t-dance. Some people were there saturday, it wasn't empty, but not packed. The renovation looks very nice - retro modernistic style, and the rooms had nice drapes, furniture (dark wicker), new carpet, ... HOWEVER, the service was consistently poor. You have to yell or wave your arms about to get any attention from poolside service. The guys would mostly go to tables of people they seemed to know and skip everyone else. It was common to see people go inside the bar to order drinks, and I had to bus (pick up) my own table. The place is only a few blocks from Georgi's Alibi - a great bar/club that was packed on saturday night.

Been there twice (on Sunday's - THE ONLY DAY this place has people in it.) And the service is lousy, the pool (which is huge) takes up all the room to stand, if it rains.. FORGET IT.. you're wet. Whoever designed the TIKI BAR should be shot. Just as other have said.. it's HUGE.. problem is.. it's HUGE for the bartenders, their workstation is very nice, the problem is it takes up the whole damn tiki bar allowing for a small space to sit or stand causing everyone to bump into each other. The owners must have been on crack when they put this together. NOT TO MENTION there is NO HAPPY HOUR on SUNDAYs. They are super pricy. I'm not saying I won't go back, just won't make it a weekly Sunday pit stop.Especially if it calls for RAIN... :(
