Interesting changes

Enjoyed this property last season (Dec 2009). It is clean as noted by others, and still new. This season (Dec 2010) they have added a dry sauna. They sadly have eliminated the maze and the B&D room. There are now NO "play" spaces at all other than the rooms (single or double), so be prepared to spring for a room, not merely a locker. The lack of "play" spaces I think is a negative, & perhaps it is a "money grab". If you want some wild fun you must spring for a room to ensure that you have space to "play".

This is the best bathhouse in Tampa Bay - bar none

I have memberships to both Club Tampa and Rainbow Cabaret - each one has their pros and cons: one is cleaner/more upscale but doesn't have any porn vids, play areas or allow nudity on the sundeck any longer (Club Tampa) and the other place has all that but is rundown and dirty but gives free memberships in April (Rainbow). However, Ybor Resort & Spa tops both. The only cons here are that you have to pay for parking and I hear the hotel rooms downstairs aren't great. But I'm a local boy so I just cum here for the bathhouse festivities. And those are fantastic! It now has a private entry way in the back that leads to a nice check-in area that is stocked with adult toys, lubes and condoms. Beverages and snacks can also be purchased here. When checking in, make sure to ask for a bigger towel, because the ones in the rooms are pretty small. I always get a smaller room upstairs - and these are still nicely sized with a real bed and flat screen tv's - that have regular channels (along with 5 channels of gay porn) and a live feed from the group shower area! The lockers inside the rooms weren't usable the last time I was there, but there's still plenty of space to leave your clothes inside your room. This place has an immaculate outdoor enclosed patio for nude sunbathing with plenty of chairs. The pool is actually a huge inground hot tub that could probably fit 100 people. There's also a little corner nook with a glory hole for some fun. They have a nice gym with plenty of updated workout equipment. Before going upstairs make sure to check out the white board in the front lobby at the bottom of the staircase - here you can put down your room # and designate your status: top, bottom, versatile, etc. That way when visitors stop by your room, there's no confusion. Upstairs has a lot of play areas with plenty of action. There's an area with a wraparound couch where you can watch porn, a small maze area, a play room with an S&M cross, a playroom with a massage table, and another with a swing. There's also the huge group shower room (as mentioned before), a giant steam room and a very nice sauna. The staff here is friendly and helpful and the place overall is very modern and clean. I highly recommend it over the other 2 bathhouses in Tampa. In fact I'll be going back this Saturday! Can't wait!!

The Best of the Worst

I must say this place has had the potential to be one of the best, if not the best, bathhouses I have ever visited but it has totally failed to live up to it. In recent months I have seen them admit strangers of both sexes off the street without memberships which is a scary thing in a heavy drinking zone like Ybor City. It seems they are so desperate for patronage they will try anything. This puts loyal patrons at risk, however. It is only a matter of time before the wrong drunken rowdy is dragged in and all hell breaks loose.

Filthy room. Never again!!!

Visited Aug 5, 2010. I had made reservations on Ybor Resort for 3 nights. Contrary to other hotels, I was charged upfront for all 3 nights while checking in. Room was filthy. The tile floors where extremely dirty. All the stains it had, made it seem like there had been a mud slide run through it! Bed had white sheets and comforters with brown stains. Pillow cases were all dusty. Windows had mud all over them (in the outside). I even found a dead lizard lying flat on the floor. I complaint and let them know I was checking out first thing in the morning. Later on that night the manager himself (Tom) came to my room and believe it or not, he agreed with me on the nasty floor and said not to be aware of the conditions of if. He even gave me a free pair of flip-flops so I didn't have to walk barefooted on that floor. He said he will reimburse me for the other 2 nights after I check out. The following morning while checking out, the manager was nowhere to be found. I was told they had my credit card on file so I didnt had to wait for the manager. They will remind him I had checked out so he can proceed with the reimbursement. I try contacting the manager for two days after I left and he never answered the phone or returned my messages. I am now disputing the charges with the credit card company. The place has potential,but it NEEDS TO BE CLEAN!!!
